Mona Vale is the moniker of London-based songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Jamie Hoddle.
Last Friday, Mona Vale released a new single titled, “Focal Point.”
It is the first of a string of 2018 releases scheduled in the coming months that boast his songwriting capabilities and vocal potential.
With influences ranging from production trail-blazers Maribou State and Four Tet, Mona Vale is known for creating music that is both tonally bright and melodically introspective. He also uses a lot of reverb to create a soundscape that is both nostalgic and upbeat.
Similar to Mona Vale’s earlier releases, which received support from the likes of Pete Tong and Danny Howard at BBC Radio 1, “Focal Point” features rich atmospheric synths and pitched vocals.
