Songwriter and producer Jim Alxndr released his new single “Got What You Need,” last week.
It’s a laid back hip-hop tune that features swirling synths, tight percussive elements and swanky guitar licks complimented by refreshing saxophone instrumentation.
Over the last year, Jim Alxndr has drawn attention from a handful of noteworthy bloggers, playlisters and labels as an act to watch.
As a project, Jim Alxndr is headed by the versatile and noteworthy music producer, James Vincent.
James obtained his undergraduate degree in contemporary music performance in 2016 before entering the Berklee College of Music’s prestigious EPD (Electronic Production & Design) program.
James Vincent recently collaborated with jazz piano prodigy Jesus Molina (winner of the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation Award), Primetime Emmy award-winning musician Steve Jordan, and Elle Graham (aka WOODES), who was named “Best Australian Solo Artist” by the AU Review.
James was also commissioned by his alma mater, the University of Melbourne, to record an original 26-piece orchestra composition titled “The Crest,” which received praise from the Australian online music platform Trouble Juice.
In addition to this, James co-produced and co-wrote the song “Run to the River” with Australian musician Dylan Joel; the song was released earlier this year and has been stream well over a million times.
Needless to say, he’s a talented musician/songwriter/producer and an artist to put on your radar.
