Cape Town-based artist Ex Olympic recently released their 4 track debut EP Hangups.
The project is the work of South African multi-instrumentalist and producer Nik Van Reenen who previously released music under the name Fever Trails and also plays guitar with Sub Pop-act Spoek Mathambo.
Hangups is a breezy listen from beginning to end and is well suited for fans of Toro y Moi, Tame Impala and Mac Demarco.
The second song on the EP, “Torches” features swaying synths, glistening guitars and nostalgic vocals. It’s a definite vibe.
