Hailing from Denmark, mags doesn’t miss the mark when it comes to crafting indie-pop hits. Her latest single “elephant in the room” is the second song she’s released in 2020, and slotted to be apart of her forthcoming debut album due this fall.
The track focuses on light percussion and highlights mags’ soft vocals, but only to prepare the listener for a burst of an upbeat electronic chorus. The story told in the song is a reflection of a relationship that has run its course, and a wave of awkwardness arises due to things unsaid. Addressing the problem that can no longer be ignored with a happy-sad dance party seems more than proper.
