The Shadowboxers are a 3-piece soul-pop band based in Los Angeles. Their single “Animals” comes off their recently released album The Slow March Of Time Flies By; an album seen as a final product of decade’s worth of refining their sound and their direction.

“Animals” is a Nu-Disco inspired track that resembles a 4-minute time capsule. It encompasses Disco’s strongest elements: attention-grabbing synths, groovy guitar riffs and basslines, and soothing vocals.

Led by an old-school melody, the single talks about letting your animal instinct roam free without overthinking or second-guessing. It’s safe to say the only other instinct in the room is the one to dance.
