Today, LA-based producer, vocalist, and songwriter, Repato released his new single, “If I Only.”
“If I Only,” features a powerful lead vocal backed by fluttering synths, tightly mixed percussion and nostalgic textures.
Repato recorded the track exclusively using analog synths, analog drum machines, and acoustic percussion. It was also mastered by Bo Kondren (Caribou / Moderat), who mastered it through a completely analog signal chain.
The song was mixed by Nathan Boddy, who recently mixed the lead single from of James Blake’s album, The Colour in Anything.
Lyrically, the song conveys an experience of finding a way through an apparently impossible force. The chorus repeats, “If I only fly away, If I only knew the way.”
