24-year-old songstress and Northern California-native, Ashe has made a name for herself over the last year with her balance of modern day pop and vintage vocals.

Ashe has recently collaborated with electonic-pop acts like Louis The Child, Whethan and Shaun Frank. She’s even performed on stage with Big Gigantic (at Coachella) and a string of tour dates with Shaun Frank alongside The Chainsmokers.

As a graduate in composition and production from world renowned Berklee College of Music, Ashe gained international exposure as a songwriter and jazz vocalist.

Her music is a blend of bohemian beach-pop with radio-friendly indie-electronic production. Ashe’s calm, cool, and collected demeanor coupled with confidence suggest a bright future for the extremely talented musician.

We recently had the opportunity to ask Ashe a few questions about her music. You can find the brief Q&A below along with a stream of her single “Used To It.”

Enjoy!

Q&A

Casablanca Sunset: How would you describe your sound?

Ashe: Hmm… I honestly can’t say 100%. I’m just trying to make music that feels good. But if I had to put a label on it, I’d say it’s a wonky cross of alternative-pop music with acoustic psychedelic and rock influences.

CS: Awesome, so how long have you been singing?

A: OUT THE WOMB.

CS: Who are some of your early musical influences?

A: Bob Dylan, Carole King, Ella Fitzgerald, Jefferson Airplane, Stevie Nicks.

CS: How did your time at Berklee College of Music help shape your sound as a singer/songwriter?

A: Well, school introduced me to jazz harmony which sorta blew open my world on how I thought about chords and melodies… That really changed everything for me.

CS: You’ve recently collaborated with Louis The Child, Whethan, Shaun Frank, The Chainsmokers and more. How do you like the process of collaborating with other acts?

A: I love collaborating. Each time is magical in its own unique way and every artist brings something new to the table.

CS: What new artist do you think will have a big 2018?

A: Lewis Capaldi is going to crush it.

CS: Any new music in the future that we can expect from you?

A: Right now, I’m wrapping up my first ever EP and couldn’t be more excited for everyone to hear!
