Q&A with LINNEY

Casablanca Sunset: Congrats on your EP! Tell us a bit about it?

Linney: When I first started this project, I really wanted to create something that makes you want to jump in the car, windows down, music up, and drive. I wanted upbeat, anthemic, feel-good tunes that make you feel alive. Something that makes your day a little brighter.

CS: How would you describe your style?

L: Indie Pop. Pop as in structure and writing with an organic feel.

CS: How long have you been singing?

L: Since I can remember! Music has always been the central focus of my life.

CS: Who are some of your musical influences?

L: I love Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding and Robyn.

CS: What are some other artists you are listening to right now?

L: Artists currently in rotation on my Spotify playlist: Meg Myers, The Chainsmokers, DNCE, Selena Gomez, Alessia Cara, Daya, Mike Posner. Oh! And Alan Walker’s “Faded.”

CS: Plans for 2016?

L: 2016 has already been very kind to me. I started the year off with winning the NAMM John Lennon Songwriting Contest with my song, “Coming Back for More” and performed there on the main stage in Anaheim. The most recent single, “That Night,” was added to a couple official Spotify playlists, which was awesome. And I recently released the official music video for that on YouTube. This year I’m very excited to put out this EP, and start playing more shows!

CS: What comes after the EP?

L: After EP 1, Things We Say, the plan is to play shows and get the music out there! A second EP is in the works, so check out my Twitter/Instagram for updates on that 🙂 @linneyofficial
