Khruangbin share “Pelota,” off of their highly-anticipated new full length album, Mordechai, due out Friday, June 26th.

The single comes alongside an accompanying video, directed by Hugo Rodrigues Rodriguez, written by Alvaro Sotomayor and produced by Glassworks Creative Studio.

“Pelota” blends aspects of funk, disco and Middle Eastern avant-garde into something cool, smooth and unique. The Spanish word “Pelota” translates in English to “Ball,” and according to the band the song is loosely based on a Japanese movie. The video features a variety of spherical characteristics that represent a reoccurring theme throughout the animated short. Stream below.
