The debut single “Stop For Nothing,” from the Los Angeles based duo courtship is a synthpop and indie rock hybrid; ebullient and buoyant in optimism. It’s soft backing instrumentals and glossy vocals segue into a surging, exuberant chorus. The downtempo electronic rock tune sounds something like a mash between Phoenix and the Canadian rock band Seoul.

The new duo consists of Eli Hirsch (DREAMERS, Ethan Burns) and Micah Gordon (Tobias Jesso Jr.). On paper, they don’t make much sense. Eli grew up in Portland OR, playing in indie rock bands since he was 13, while Micah grew up near the beach in LA and is a trained jazz pianist. But somehow, it worked. Both inspired by artists like MGMT, Passion Pit, Starfucker and Stevie Wonder, Eli and Micah write and produce everything in Micah’s bedroom by the ocean.
