Michael K. is LA-based vocalist and and songwriter who dropped her first single last month, “Dorian Gray.”

“Dorian Gray” is a stripped down vocal-centric soulful indie tune featuring succulent guitars, soft angelic vocals and precise production. For fans of Billie Ellish and VÉRITÉ, this debut is an impressive preview of Michael K.‘s potential.

Lyrically, the song is based around the book The Picture of Dorian Gray. It’s a story about a relationship with a person that’s beautiful on the outside and not on the inside. As you get to know someone, they turn out to be someone different than you expect. She sings, “my love I thought I knew, but who are you?”

Kristin Michael Robinson, aka Michael K. is currently a 20-year-old music student at USC. She also currently works for Live Nation and writes for the Ones to Watch blog.
