Paris-based duo, Projections recently released a single titled “Distortions,” from their forthcoming ‘II’ EP.

The song features enthralling synths, organic instrumentation and a live drum arrangement.

Inspired by the soundtracks of François de Roubaix and Ennio Morricone and acts like Air and Bertrand Burgalat, Projections music is parts cinematic post-rock and atmospheric electronic psychedelia.

“Distortions” is definitely a bit of cross over and fits into the electronic, trip-hop, post-rock and psychedelia categories. Most notably featuring a distinct and raw edge, the song showcases a lead synth riff that is on par with some of the greatest. It sounds similar to the 2008 Tobacco single “Hairy Candy.”

The song is also accompanied by a Yuksek remix available here.
