The new Austin-based indie rock act Duncan Fellows released his second single “Sleeper,” today.

Lyrically, the song is about loss; loved ones, ideas, or anything you hold close to yourself. It’s a song about becoming new, letting yourself slip into another self.

Rhythmically, the song features glistening guitars, group vocal accents, and swirling analog synths. The song’s irresistible lo-fi groove suggests not a mournful loss, but one that leads to self-actualization – a new normal.

The track serves as an inflection point midway through the bands’ first full-length LP, “Both Sides of the Ceiling” (available 8/25), introducing a musical and figurative edge scarcely seen in the band’s earlier work.
