Nocturnal Tapes are an Australian based indie-electronic group with a knack for house-infused electronica.

Taking cues from the likes of LCD Soundsystem, Talking Heads and Kaytranada, their latest release “Wake Up,” is a super catchy alternative tune.

It features swelling sonic synths, upbeat percussion and enchanting vocals. The dream-laden track glides along effortlessly blending organic and electronic instrumentation, and finished off with soaring and endearing vocals.

According to front man, Harry Suttor, the song has a deeper meaning than the uplifting tendencies the instrumentation might suggest. “Without getting too dark, the song is about how everything in your life is leading up to the ultimate moment of death; time is a way we all die. So, why are so many of us wasting our lives locked to screens and living in routine?”
