When The xx entered the studio to begin recording their 2nd album Coexist they released a demo letting the world know they had begun the process. This teaser track was posted to the internet back in 2011 and sparked a fire of anticipation that never really lived up to the hype. Now that the 2012 release is close to two years old, it is safe to say their sophomore release was a slump and did not live up to their 2009 critically acclaimed self-titled release that put them on the map. Today I decided to bring back this demo from the Coexist album (which did not make the album’s cut). The song is titled Eyes Open, and the more I go back and listen I think this should have made the album. Pretty good track and worth bring back from the vault. Enjoy!
