Dallas based band Sleeperstar are gearing up to release their second full length album “Lost Machines” due out October 15th. The album was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with grammy nominated Producer Dustin Bennett. Their first single off the record, Apocalypse, is guided by epic U2-ish guitar work and full-band melodic chants that really create an anthemic sound. Sleeperstar took time out of their day to answer a few questions we had for them in regards to their music. Here is what they had to say:
How Long have you been making music?
Sleeperstar: We’ve been making music together since 2007. We started in California, recorded 4 songs with our buddy Ron Anniello and then spent 2 weeks in Stockholm with our buddy Peer Astrom and knocked out another 3 songs. Eventually those 7 songs became our first EP called “To Speak, To Love, To Listen”
What influences your music/style?
SS: In no particular order – Hayao Miyazaki, Third Eye Blind, Twizzlers, a descent Old Fashion, Battle Star Galactica amongst many other things…
What music in 2014 have you been listening to?
SS: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Porter Robinson, The Civil Wars, Green River Ordinance, Jillian Edwards, and always a little Guster mixed in there…
Why should someone listen to your band?
SS: Just watch the new video for “Apocalypse” with everyone dressed up as ninjas… just saying, Shaun our drummer will find you…
