Last week the Swedish producer Skogsrå released his latest single, “Out of Time.”
The talented producer has worked with the likes of Oliver Nelson and Tobtok and is sure to make an upcoming impact on the music blogosphere; especially in his home country.
“Out of Time,” is led by a groovy guitar riff that screams all things pop! It’s clear that Skogsrå has a natural ear for melody and a well rounded ability to create euphoric atmospheres.
Encourage all readers to check out his latest below and the Q&A he did for CBS.

Casablanca Sunset: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been producing?
Skogsrå: Hi. My name is Skogsrå and I’m a human person born onto the wistful lands of Sweden. I’ve moved around a bit between most of the larger cities in Sweden, before I ended up back in my little hometown. It feels good. My parents both have real jobs and I have been making music since I was about 7 (it wasn’t very good back then) and recording it since around 12 (shout out to eJay for jump starting my career).
CS: Can you tell us more about your latest single “Out of Time”?
S: Time sucks. It’s constantly, relentlessly and perpetually passing. Slipping out of our fingers. There’s a lot of it, yet never enough. I think this song, to me, is a lamentation of days spent fearing this and also the celebration of wasting it in good company!
CS:What does the production process look like on one of your songs?
S: It looks like cellphone notes, cups of tea, make-shift duvet-vocal booths, CPU overloads, cluttered computer desktops and guitar pick hunts.
CS: Do you think there is something unique about house music that comes from Sweden?
S: I definitely think that there’s definitely something special in our music scene, regardless of genre. But that could just be this collective vibe that we are all feeling and maybe that’s why I relate to it. Either way, it’s different than the US and UK scene. I think lot of people here have mastered the art of meaningful pop. We like things that catch us, but actually hold up on closer inspection. And we also dare to embrace melancholy and our dark desires instead of painting an idealistic image of love, wealth and consumption. Some other acts to check out are Salem al Fakir, Little Dragon, Veronica Maggio, Wildhart and Tundran.
CS: Plans for the future?
S: EP, LP, RIP.
Look forward to hearing more from you in the future! Until then you can check out more of Skogsrå on his Soundcloud and Facebook page.
