Being an Arizonan, born & raised, I have to stick by my hometown bands. And quite frankly this song sounds exactly like an Arizonan band, even though it’s not. Picture a cross between the Gin Blossoms & Rodger Clynne. Lots of melody, warmth and even a harmonica in the chorus. One of our Casablanca Sunset viewers informed us of this track via email. Needless to say, I am down. Shmohawk is a Seattle-based trio who draws from ’60s influences like The Byrds, as well as power-pop touchstones like Big Star and Teenage Fanclub. Stream and download there debut album in full over on Bandcamp.
