The German-Luxembourgish electro-pop trio Say Yes Dog is on quite the roll.
Ahead of their upcoming album, Voyage, the trio release their latest single, “Lies.”
“Lies” is a catchy song featuring an anthemic vocal, groovy bass line and a James Murphy-esque synth arrangement. Its an electronic-leaning rock tune with real instrumentation and quality production value.
According to the band, lyrically, the song is about “someone reminiscing about a relationship, torn between ending it and not really being able to leave it behind completely. He wants himself to stop lying but caught up in nostalgia about his love and the times spent together, he keeps struggling with that decision.”
Last month, I featured their new single “Deep Space” in the March 2019 edition of the Casablanca Sunset “Inbox Playlist.” Needless to say, it’s also an impressive track showcasing the group’s ability.
Both songs are due out on their upcoming album, Voyage, which is set to drop May 10th via Discodogs Records.
If Voyage ends up anything like their latest releases, then I suspect listeners are in for a real treat.
