Detroit-based Quinn XCII delivers a crossover hit with his latest song,”Fake Denim.”

The track covers a few bases; borrowing aspects of pop, electronic production and a vocal flow that is borderline hip-hop.

“Fake Denim” features a steady percussive beat and easy to digest rhythmic instrumentation coupled with Quinn’s polished and melodic vocal lines. He is a clear talent.

Lyrically, the songwriter explains that the story behind the song is sort of a “different take on Kanye’s “Gold Digger,” from the perspective of a kid from Midwest, about the problem of a guy spending all his money on a girl when he really doesn’t have the means or the luxury to do that.”

Quinn XCII’s debut album, is expected to be released later this fall on Columbia Records.
