2013 – The year of “Trying To Be Cool” remixes. In the past few years there have been a handful of tracks that have been over remixed dozens upon dozens of times. In 2013, this was the case with Phoenix’s “Trying to Be Cool.” While the album, Entertainment!, did not live up the hype that Phoenix fans had hoped for, it sure led to a lot of attention. One of my favorite interpretations was Breakbot’s groovy take on the relatively tame Phoenix track “Trying To Be Cool.” Worth a revisit and a post. Great song.
