OUTLYA (pronounced Outlier) formed as a group in November of 2015. And after having spent most of 2016 writing, recording, and listening the group recently released their 4th song in August of this year.
Produced by Dan Grech-Marguerat (The Vaccines, Scissor Sisters, Radiohead), “Howl” is a rapturous pop-tinged record with gloriously uplifting melodies and a Coldplay-esque chorus.
According to the group, “Howl is a song about communication in the modern age. The feeling of euphoria when you hear a loved one’s voice down a distorted phone line and the transportive effect it can have on you from miles away.”
If this song is any indication as to what is to come, there is a lot of upside to this group. Especially if they can continue to pump out indie-pop hits.
