In May, Los Angeles-based artist morgxn released his debut album, vital, via wxnderlost records / Hollywood Records.

The album is a distinguishably easy-listen from beginning to end and was produced alongside Ryan Marrone (M83, Nicki Minaj). Vital features collaborations with The Naked and Famous, Walk The Moon, Basecamp and more.  The last song on the album is also a Robert Smith—approved cover of “Boys Don’t Cry.”

One of the better tracks from the indie electronic-influenced LP and (in my opinion) an overlooked tune is “harpoon (how does it feel).”

“Harpoon” features a dance punk bass line, rhythmic guitar chords and morgxn’s noteworthy topline. It may not jump out at you after the first listen but it’s a solid alternative pop song and worth sharing. Picture Cold War Kids meets The Rapture.
