Latroit is a Grammy Award-winning producer and DJ based in Los Angeles. He’s known for his remixes for artists like Depeche Mode, Atlas Genius, and Mystery Skulls by giving them an upbeat electronic twist. This time around, he’s released a cover version of Peter Gabriel’s “Don’t Give Up.”
The track has an interesting Indietronica spin. Featuring Australian singer Charlz, the beginning of the track starts off with soft vocals and an ambient vibe, and it has a sweet “wait for it” element towards the end of it, letting loose powdery drum beats and layered chillwave synths.
A subtle aspect worth mentioning is that the cover chooses to keep the hopeful and positive verses sung originally by Kate Bush, leaving out the negativity of the rest of the song.
