Welcome to Festival Season. Bust out the Ray-Bans and empty your savings account, because this summer there is a music festival in just about every major US City. Historically summer music festivals are a European tradition. However with the dramatic increase in quality American festivals, its safe to say America has become hotspot for big time music festivals.
Coachella is one of the premiere music festivals in the world and has placed Indio, Ca on the map. In honor of the palm-tree polo-field festival, we decided to curate an hour-long playlist that will guide you through the 2014 line-up. With a balance between the well established and the up-and-coming, we have compiled 16 tracks exclusively of Coachella artists. This mix is perfect for the car ride out or just everyday listening. For those fortune enough to be making the trip out, this year has a handful of must see acts including: Neutral Milk Hotel, Outkast, Muse, Beck, Broken Bells, Disclosure, Foxygen, Washed Out, Temples, Jagwar Ma, and an inevitable Skrillex & Chance the Rapper collaboration. It’s also worth noting that Daft Punk, who are rumored to play every year, have a 4-time Grammy award winning single Get Lucky with R&B artist Pharrell Williams (who is scheduled both weekends). An appearance is doubtful, but hey, you never know…
