The Australian artist delivers a fresh and raw dose of indie-pop that borrows aspects of folk, blues and rock and roll.

This week, Chris released a new music video for “Let Go,” which you can now stream below. The video showcases Watts’ talented eye for visual representation and creative production.

Also, check out the brief Q&A Chris did for us below.

Enjoy.

Q&A with Chris Watts

Casablanca Sunset: Inspiration behind the new single ‘Let Go’?

Chris Watts: A certain relationship that I had with someone who was always very hot cold and left me always guessing. No the most ideal relationship, but these things aren’t always perfect haha

CS: Music video turned out very well. How long did you work on it? Who produced it?

CW: From concept to the finished product around 2 months. I personally directed and created the clip too, so I was very busy entering into 2016. Very pleased with the overall clip though!

CS: The video seems to used a lot of White and Yellow. Any meaning behind the use of those colors?

CW: No real meaning, but I would feel like my love of Wes Anderson films would be where that may have come from. Very colourful his scene and sets are.

CS: Who are other Australian musicians/artists you enjoy?

CW: Tame Impala! There new record was super strong and some of there best work yet. San Cisco last year with there album Gracetown. It was such a great experience to work with the same producer as San Cisco for the new track ‘Let Go’ too.

CS: Any plans for future?

CW: I’m very exited about this new single I just finished recoding yesterday in Brisy. Featuring Amy Sheppard from the band Sheppard. Its really interesting to hear someone else sing on song of mine. Something I’ve never done before. Keen to get that track out there too.

Thanks Chris! Looking forward to hearing the track. For more on Chris Watts and his band be sure to check out their website here.
