2013 was an awesome year for electronic music. It was extremely hard to narrow down the list to just these 13 tracks. What made this year so great is the amount of new artists who surfaced throughout it. It seemed like every month there was some new breakthrough artist or group taking charge and bringing something new to the table. In 2013 a lot of artists found their sound and really took it to the next level. The biggest thing that made 2013 so great though was the listeners. Without listeners all music would not go far. In 2013 it seemed more apparent than ever that people weren’t just sitting there, letting the top 10 on Beatport or Pitchfork spoon-feed them their music. More underground sources for buying media and discovering music saw great success. Can only hope this trend continues in to 2014 and beyond.
