Dutch-artist Young & Sick recently remixed Your Smith‘s breezy summertime single “The Spot.”
Young & Sick is the brainchild of Dutch artist Nick van Hofwegen who is equally as talented at creating graphic art as he is at creating music. Earlier this year, he released two 4-song EPs as Young & Sick and collaborated on visual art with acts like Foster the People and Maroon 5.
His remix of Your Smith comes on the heals of the buzzing 4-song Bad Habit EP which Your Smith released earlier this year via Neon Gold Records. Your Smith recently toured with Rhye and has built a name for herself as an emerging artist creating a fresh California indie pop sound.
The Young & Sick remix of “The Spot” features a slick bass line, disco percussion and breezy instrumentation. Flipping the bright Sheryl Crow-influence pop melody into a disco & funk-influenced “cocktail at a daytime-party” mix.
