The Los Angeles-based band, Weathers, are part of the post-Millennial Generation Z: Social media-saturated kids who grew up in an insecure world and raised by financially stressed parents affected by the economic downturn.

Comprised of lead singer/rhythm guitarist Cameron Boyer, guitarist Cameron Olsen, bassist Brennen Bates, and drummer Cole Carson, Weathers have been a band since October of 2015.

The recently formed band has already received national attention for the two songs they have out to date.

The latest release, “Happy Pills,” is a dark, guitar-driven alt-rock song is about taking physical or metaphysical “Happy Pills” for a an easy fix. The song stems from the idea that the American culture has become too quick to prescribe pills to settle whatever ailments people of all ages may have, but these prescriptions may not actually be solving anyone’s problems.

The band has drawn comparisons to The Neighbourhood, Saint Motel and Imagine Dragons.

The “Happy Pills” music video also features a cameo of the Rialto Theater in Tucson, Arizona which happens to be in the same city as my college alma modern. (fun fact)

Anyhow, check out the music video below.
