Just as my parents generation has smooth jazz, my generation will always have hip-hop. Both riddled out of tradition and hardship, it bay be easier to draw similarities between the two genres than one would expect. For myself, hip-hop is one of the most versatile genres to approach. It is both calming and upbeat at the same time. When done right it stimulates the brain in a mellow and nurturing manner. This gem, courtesy of Blue Boy, sounds nothing like jazz but it sure does sound a whole lot like hip-hop. In the late 90s this song was an international dance hit originating from Glasgow and London.
