Superparka was formed by French duo Paco and Simon – their sound is a combination of Lo-Fi Hip Hop, Garage House, and R&B.
On their single “Special,” Superparka pays tribute to Shuggie Otis. They consider Otis to be an “underrated legend of psychedelic soul music” from the ’70s, and their cover is everything but dull.
The track welcomes us with a Lo-Fi synth loop before switching gears to a faster, upbeat tempo; something the duo has been including in their latest releases. The highlight of the cover is how they revitalized the original guitar chords with their modern French Touch.
