Last month, Joywave released their sophomore album, Content, via Hollywood Records/Cultco Music.

The album was produced by Joywave’s own Daniel Armbruster & Sean Donnelly and mixed by Rich Costey (Haim, Foster The People, Vampire Weekend).

The radio single off the album “It’s A Trip,” is a mellow indie rock tune that sounds something like a mix of Spoon & Real Estate. It features a off kilter guitar riff, steady rhythm and vocal that is Rivers Cuomo-esque.

The track is also accompanied by a music video featuring jet-skis, a hot chick and rapidly aging band members.

Collectively, Content, is an easy listening featuring tracks like “Shutdown” that embody the real and raw elements of indie rock.

The album is a relevant follow up to their 2015 release, How Do You Feel Now?, and their 2013 collaboration with Big Data, “Dangerous,” which at it’s peak went #1 on alternative radio.

The band is embarking on US tour with Young The Giant + Cold War Kids throughout August and September. Be sure to check them out!
