“Stone” is the fourth single off Jaymes Young debut album, Feel Something.
It’s a melodic and stripped down vocal heavy pop-ballad. The song reveals both strength and vulnerability as Jaymes croons on the chorus, “give me all your pain, and love will set you free; give me all your shame, put all your weight on me.”
“Stone” spotlights Jaymes‘ robust vocal delivery, entering quietly over a sparse piano line before a flurry of percussion and lovelorn poetic lyrics build into the chorus’ euphoric melody.
“It’s about how an old flame can haunt you super far into the future,” remarks Jaymes. “It’s a very intense experience. That taste is going to linger for quite some time.”
