The summery synth based original features warm swooning electronic melodies beneath uptempo rhythm and nostalgic vocal production. The vocal which is noticeably altered beneath joyous and sentimental effects is informal’s (Sam Richie) original vocal and is the first single of his to feature his own voice. Lyrically, “favorite places” is about revisiting places that once held a special meaning in a past relationship but after heartbreak and change they no longer provide the same feelings and meaning.
Despite a relatively somber meaning, the song is bright, up-beat and feel-good. It’s laid back but still energetic.
