Bad Tuner is the project of Brooklyn-based producer Jozef Sergei Dimitrov.

Last week, he released a new single titled “Adelaide’s Voyage,” which he composed for New York Times journalist Ian Urbina’s new book The Outlaw Ocean.

Using archival audio and source material from Urbina’s reporting on the seas, Bad Tuner creates a body of work that acts as a companion piece to his stories.

Bad Tuner rearranges words and offers his own instrumentation on the lofty single. “Adelaide’s Voyage” is a rhythmic tune with spoken work audio, bright flute sounding synths and an uptempo rhythm. The song showcases Bad Tuner’s talented arrangment abilities and unique production skills.
